Ash Wednesday – the beginning of Lent

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the period of Lent, the way we prepare ourselves for Easter. We do this by trying very hard to make ourselves better people. If we overindulge in something we might give it up for Lent. Or we might try to improve our shortcomings by, for example, trying to make sure we say something nice to someone everyday.First ReconciliationAt this time of year the children who are going to make their First Holy Communion in the summer ake their First Reconciliation. Sometimes we do things that upset Jesus and this is the very special gift by which the children can make friends with Jesus again. Please pray for them at this important time.


World Book Day

The first Thursday in March is World book day when the whole world takes a day outto celebrate and acknowledge how important books are. Further information March is also the month when we welcome our Dads and Grandads into school to see how their children are doing in school and allow them to experience a typical day in their lives as they are often very busy people.
